Apply to College
Common Application
With more than 600 Member colleges and only one application, The Common Application is comprised of a rich and diverse membership – colleges that are public, private, large, small, secular, and religious. No other college application system matches the diversity of institutions accessible through The Common Application, which is why more than 1 million students, counselors and teachers rely on us every year.
How does The Common Application work? Colleges request a large amount of information from applicants, so they simplify the process by collecting much of that information all in one place. This prevents students from repeating the details of their background, education, activities, and testing over and over again, for every school on their list. It also enables students to stay on top of deadlines and manage school-specific tasks.
Important Notice to Students: In order to apply using the Common Application, use the following steps:
- Create your account with Common App
- Add schools to your list that you are interested in applying to
- Understand the specific requirements of each institution
- Gather your general application information for each institution and the general application
- Start your application
- Applications that require “Counselor Recommendations” can be sent to your Guidance Counselor or BRACE Advisor. Applications that require a “Recommender” can be sent to a teacher of your choice.
