2 Varsity Senior Night

On April 13, 2016 the Jags Varsity Baseball Team celebrated its annual Senior Night. Before the scheduled game against Cooper City, the seniors and their families were honored by walking across home plate. The players, coaches and Principal Bayer stood nearby applauding as the announcer read personalized messages to the seniors written by their parents of how proud they are of them.

Then after all the pre-game festivities, it was time for business. The Jags started off slow but scored 2 runs in the fourth inning in route to a 2-1 victory. Seniors Isaac Valancy, Noah Rodriguez, and Daniel Rivero all contributed to the win in a huge way.
Isaac and Noah were each successful at the plate as they totaled for two hits, while Dan pounded forcefully on the mound. Rivero pitched a complete game, allowing only 3 hits, 1 run, and had a total of 15 strikeouts. When asked about how he felt about this special night, Rivero enthusiastically responded, “It was a great turnout for Senior Night. I pitched my heart out for all the fans. The crowd was energetic and it was cool to see all three seniors do great.”

This was a memorable night for the Jags as the seniors had outstanding performances in one of their last regular season games at PPCHS.

Good luck Seniors and the rest of the Jags as they keep swinging toward States.
Go Jags!
