Tomorrow, M building will be encase with the scent of brewing coffee and fresh cookies. Students will be lining up outside Mrs. Kidd’s door, looking forward to yet another coffeehouse. The second coffeehouse of the year will take place tomorrow in room M115 starting at 2:15 p.m. For just 3 dollars, students and teachers can experience great acoustic performances and a surplus of food.

“Coffeehouse has been around for as long as I can remember and my favorite thing about it is that unlike talent show, there are no auditions for it. So anyone who just wants to go up on stage can do whatever they want. A lot of people know about it, but it’s not as big as talent show and the fact that it’s a small group takes the pressure off of anyone who wants to perform,” says Drama IV student, Sierra Gude.

A coffeehouse is a place where people can gather and socialize. Anything from music to poetry is usually performed to provide entertainment. Anyone attending is presented with a relaxed atmosphere and supportive people. And, of course, anyone can grab a cup of coffee.

“I believe coffeehouse is very well supported by the audience and by everyone in the drama department who helps put it on. Even if it’s your first time performing for coffeehouse and you’re really nervous and you stumble on a few word or you forget a few steps; we are still going to snap and clap for you because you put in the effort and tried,” says Gude.

Coffeehouse is open to anyone. Show your support for both Drama and the performers by attending tomorrow immediately after school.
