In the varsity Jags first basketball game of the BCAA tournament, the Big 8, PCB took on St. Thomas Aquinas in a highly anticipated matchup. With a final score of a 66-45 beat down, the Jags are confident heading into the rest of the tournament and postseason play.

“If we come and out and play hard every time we step on the court, no team can beat us. Once we win this tournament, all we really have to worry about is Norland for our road to states,” said senior Peter Buckley.

Junior Haanif Cheatham came out strong once again to lead the Jags in scoring as the Raiders were never really able to keep up with the Jags. Several turnovers committed by the Raiders helped the varsity basketball team get easy buckets in transition. Junior Marcel Denbow added ten points as his consistent play along with the starting five has dominated team across Broward County.

The Jags next game is tonight as they will battle Boyd Anderson in search for a trophy in the BCAA tournament. All games will be held at Ft. Lauderdale high school. Good luck Jags!
