Morning announcements for Monday, April 06, 2015
District Court of Appeals: On Monday morning, April 6th they will travel to the 8th District Court of Appeals in West Palm Beach to appear in front of 3 appellate judges to argue a case in the State Moot Court Competition. Maegan and Katherine had previously submitted and had their 20 page legal brief approved for the Oral part of this competition. These are the first students in Charter history to enter this competition. If they win on Monday they will head to the state competition and the opportunity to argue their side in front of The State of Florida Supreme Court.
Class Officer Position: Freshmen, are you interested in running for a Class Officer Position, next year?! If so, please pick up an application from Ms. Portalatin in room U224. ALL applications are due back by this April 2nd!”
Drama: The drama department proudly presents their production of Fools by Neil Simon! Tickets are on sale during A & B lunches!
Games United Meeting: The next Gamers United meeting will be held on April 9th after school in Mr. Hollands room, U230A. Game on Charter.”
Powder Puff: Guys, are you interested in being a cheerleader? Ladies, are you interested in being a football player? Sign Ups for Powder Puff will start on April 6th. This scholarship fundraiser hits close to home as it is dedicated to a former PPCHS student- Trenton Saunders- who passed away two years ago in a car accident. The flag football game proceeds will go directly to the Trenton Saunders Scholarship Memorial Fund.
National Honor Society: Attention current NHS members (new inductees are exempt!) Our April 8th meeting in the library auditorium has been POSTPONED to April 22. This meeting is mandatory for current members. Graduation sash money for seniors is STILL DUE on April 8th to Mrs. Rudd. Sashes are $25 and late orders will not be accepted. Your completed 20 NHS hours are due by April 29. See Mrs. Rudd for details.
Trivia Bowl: The PPCHS Trivia Bowl will be on Wednesday April 8 after school in U230. It is a quiz bowl style competition on all sorts of trivia, including history, science, math, and pop culture. Teams will consist of 4 people and the entry fee is $12 per team. Teams can consist of BOTH students AND teachers! The winners will receive gift cards from Chipotle and everyone gets pizza. If you’re interested, see Mrs. Rudd in U230 to register before Tuesday.
