The recent devastation cross-town rivals Archbishop McCarthy has brought to the PPCHS baseball team was vanished last Thursday, October 9th with a 6-4 victory over the Mavericks. Senior shortstop Anthony Gomez had a game-high three hits and was a homerun shy of hitting for the cycle.

After suffering an early deficit, the Jags clawed their way back with a huge rally late in the game to capture the lead. The pitching staff and the defense proved once again that they are the team’s strength with consistent strikeouts and sound plays inning by inning. Junior Scotty Thrasher collected two hits and senior Adam Isenberg had an RBI hit as they alternated each inning in right field to lead the team to victory.

The Jaguars will play at home against Pine Crest this Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in their fifth game of the fall season. With a current record of 2-2, the baseball team looks to get above the .500 mark to improve their resume heading into the spring season that begins in early February. Come out and support! Good luck Jags!
