When the Charter girls’ varsity soccer team took the field yesterday at 4:00 p.m., they could sense that it was their night. It certainly was as the team cruised to an 8-0 victory over the Ft. Lauderdale Flying L’s. This was a much needed win for the Jags as the face tough tests in their next two games. Even though the team has been beating opponents by large margins, they know that they can’t get too boastful.

“We have been playing really well as of late. It goes to show how much time these girls put into their practices. The girls are always wanting do get better even after a win, which helps motivate them for the next game,” says Coach Velasquez.

As for the game, there were many highlights. Senior Mya Goodman scored 2 goals and junior Courtney Zaher added one as well. Also, sophomore Emely Sosa connected on an amazing header. Next up for the Jaguars is a home game tomorrow at 7 p.m. Good luck Lady Jags!
