Yesterday afternoon in room C102, Mrs. Thomas, Ms. Scott, and Mrs. Buonomo assisted curious seniors in the application process. At 12:00 p.m., students gathered in the computer lab and spent an hour to focus on completing applications. The aiding and very useful guidance counselors helped students with each and every question that arose.

“You would think that the college application would be simple but it’s actually not; it is intense and convoluted. It was absolutely helpful [for students] to have someone looking over their shoulder and answering all their specific questions,” said freshman guidance counselor, Ms. Scott.

Not only did students apply to their dream colleges and universities, they also applied for various scholarships that could help them get there. Many students broadened their horizons to colleges as they applied to not only in-state schools, but also out of state schools.

“While applying to FSU and the University of Pittsburgh, I realized I had made mistakes and thankfully Mrs. Thomas was able to help me correct them. I still have many more applications to complete but this was a great help that was much needed,” said senior, Lucas Batista.

While yesterday was simply another early release for some students, it was a momentous leap forward in the right direction for many seniors hoping to get into the college of their choice.
