On Wednesday, November 16, 2016 PPCHS celebrated the early signing of three senior Jag athletes as they officially take their talents to the next level in college. Julia Ramos, Alyssa Pena and Christopher Nappi have all become committed to college where they will be able to receive their degrees while playing the sport they love. Softball player Ramos always had intentions to stay in Florida so she has decided to attend the College of Central Florida, a Junior College, in Ocala. In addition to Ramos, teammate Alyssa Pena is going to be taking her softball talents to college out of the state of Florida. Pena has committed to Bloomfield College, a Division II school, located in Bloomfield, New Jersey. To cap off all of the commits gathered at today’s signing party was baseball player Christopher Nappi. Nappi put a lot of thought into where he wanted to play baseball and felt New York Institute of Technology, a Division I school in Long Island, was the best fit for him as a pitcher.
When asked about this special day Nappi stated, “I felt it went great seeing all of my family members and friends support me at the greatest moment in my life. To be signed to play at NYIT means that all of the work I have put into baseball since freshman year and not doubting myself has paid off.”
Once again, congratulations to these outstanding seniors as they embark on a new journey. We wish them the best of luck as they continue to achieve their personal goals and are proud to call them our “senior stars”.
