Students will discuss the history and culture of the countries located in Asia-Pacific which includes the regions of East Asia, Southeast Asia, Australasia and Oceania. In studying this region, students will be able to relate to various ethnic groups from this region and develop an appreciation for the diversity of life there.
The Asia-Pacific Club will be opened to all students who are interested in learning more about the diversity of this region. We will explore how the culture of this region impacts life here in the United States. We will discuss various topics in our meetings such as: manga, anime, foods, film, dance, music, art and architecture, wildlife, human rights issues, politics and other related topics.
Through the study of these various topics, we hope to share our knowledge of Asia-Pacific with the rest of the PPCHS community. Also, we will explore the Asia-Pacific elements in our own community by organizing a field trip to museum exhibits or festivals in the South Florida region.
Students must maintain a 2.0 GPA and attend meetings regularly to remain in the club.
